амер., резервная коллекция (в академических библиотеках)
Специальное структурное подразделение, содержащее материалы, выдаваемые в течение ограниченного периода (обычно семестра) по заявке преподавателя, для того чтобы гарантировать всем изучающим тот или иной курс студентам возможность их использования; преподаватели сами формируют фонд резервной коллекции в части своего курса и иногда предоставляют для нее личные экземпляры (книги, ксерокопии статей, CD-диски и др.); в библиотеках существует в традиционном и/или электронном виде; имеет свои правила обслуживания с выдачей только в пределах специального читального зала на срок обычно не более 2-3 часов (традиционная резервная коллекция) и свои правила доступа (электронная резервная коллекция); является частью фонда библиотеки, но не каталогизируется.
